Hello! Long time, no blog!

I've been a busy little bee, although I haven't made time to write about it! One thing that has kept me hopping is that I recently opened an Etsy shop. (Thanksgiving, 2011)

I am selling some hair sticks and jewelry.

But the best-sellers have been my fiber-arts accessories, like the drawstring project bags.

And I've made some zippered box bags in various sizes.

There are no exposed seams in ANY of my bags, even the box bags. Here's one turned completely inside out!



Many of my drawstring bags are completely reversible.

For folks on a tight budget, I offer a K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie) Bag which is also fully reversible.


There are snag-free beaded stitch markers in fun shapes too.

Don't you just love the word "free?" I do! Anyway, I hesitate to spread the news because it might lessen my chance to win. However...since we're all friends here, I want to tell you about another blog I recently discovered: Simple Mom.

Here's something I have been making...

These are stone donut necklaces that I crochet. This one is made of Leopardskin Jasper. Here is another one made of black onyx.

The possibilities are endless as can be seen by this photo of several different donuts I have been able to round up.

I have been selling them faster than I can make them to friends and family and I haven't even had a chance to photograph them and get them up for sell on my business website! Today, I finally got them posted up on my site (www.bluemoonartistry.com).

I think they are pretty cool! However, I can not take credit for the idea. Pam, of the Knotty Generation shared it on her site and gave me permission to make them and sell them. She is awesome! Thanks Pam!

Who's the Busy Bee??? Me!

I like photos in blogs. So, here is a photo-rich entry.

I have been busy, busy, busy the last week or so. Just look at all that I have made! (For those of you who may be wondering what some of these are...they are earrings, of course. And the ones with beads sitting atop wood are beaded hairsticks. Most of the metal is sterling silver. The glass beads are either Swarovski crystals or fire-polished Czech glass. The ceramic beads are hand made and one-of-a-kind by a local artist. So, although they may not be "perfectly" symmetrical, I think that adds much interest. Her glazes are to die for!

I did it! I did it! Hooray!!

I just wanted to announce that after a few weeks of self-induced exhile, I am back! I am happy to report that I actually have something to show for my time of absence from cyber-world. Presenting...

"Big deal," you may be saying. Well, for me it is! I am no idiot, but when it comes to site building, I confess great ignorance! Because I could not find a template I liked, I started with a blank page and built my own web-site from scratch. I learned some HTML so that I could have a shopping cart. I created several new pairs of hair sticks and earrings to build up some stock. I have also been working hard on some knitted items that will be added soon! Everything had to be photographed and described. Photos had to be cropped, resized, inserted. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Every one of those steps was a new skill that I had to learn (except for the actual crafting of items...that,I already knew!)

As best I can tell, everything on the site is working fine now. I have even had a few orders! Please, if you will, take a few minutes and look around www.bluemoonartistry.com and let me know what you think! Criticism is welcome too. I can take it as long as it isn't mean spirited!
