Is it because I am the mother of 7 kids? Is it because 4 of those are teenagers? Whatever the cause, I am loosing a LOT of hair! The other night I combed and got about 40. Last night I showered, leaving a large amount in the drain. Then when I combed, I got another 90 hairs. I can't help but count them. I keep telling myself that it looks worse than it is; and then I count to prove it. Sadly, it is as bad as it looks. I am fearful that something is wrong because I have other symptoms that point to hormonal, thyroid or some other systemic problem. Blah!
Update June, 2006: I am happy to report that the shedding did finally slow down and I am not bald!

loosing hair...me too...but probably the whole unknown sick stuff/stress thing that's going on with me. . .:) if I counted...it wwould be bad....
Is that blog spam, already? the first one? bummer.
I'm losing handfuls of hair, too - did you see the day I thought I'd make myself feel better by counting, to show myself that it only looked like a lot because it was longer? Ha HA, I shouldn't have. I lost 262 that day. And I'm pretty sure I'm losing at least 2/3 that much each day. I don't want to think about it. I didn't start with thick hair! But at least I know why I'm slowly going bald.
But on a positive note, I find it a good spiritual catalyst. I start each morning in the shower appalled, and start to pray for the shedding to stop, but then I stop and think, if being bald is what it takes for God to humble me and get my attention, then so be it. If I am more likely to turn to Him, to seek Him, to be humble before Him, then I am glad to be shedding so much. I would rather be bald than prideful and distant from Him.
Oh, this is me, by the way, Kim
I used to lose quite a bit of hair when mine was longer. Now I don't seem to lose much; I'm not quite sure why. I'm sure hormones and stress play a factor. Get a footrub! ;)
I can not figure out how to delete that silly spam post! Grrr! Blogger is definitely not as easy for dummies like me as xanga was.
Sadly, you cannot selectivley delete posts on blogger. Your only option is to disable all comments. It's a bummer. This I know.
i think my sister knows how to delete spam comments, I'll ask her.
